SIGNIFICANCE OF RAMA NAMAM
Sakuntan, King of Kasi was a great devotee of Lord Rama. Once circumstances make him reach Sage Viswamitra with whom he encounters a problem. The sage goes to Lord Rama & asks him to punish the King. The King had fear of death, with the idea of Narada mahamuni , he reaches Anjana Devi , obtains the salvation & blessings from her. Anjana Devi promises that her son Lord Hanuman will protect him. Hanuman accepts to protect him so as to obey his mother’s words and had no knowledge who will punish the king . The sage & Lord Rama started to search for the king to punish him. Lord Rama & Lord Hanuman enter into the battle field. Both adhere to their promises and take owe that they will not take their step back. The fight starts, Lord Rama aims his arrow towards Hanuman & requests him to leave the King. He replies that he had to keep up his mother’s words. He whispered to himself that the man whom he worships always stood before him for the battle. So he stood without weapons. He closed his eyes & started chanting “RAMA NAMAM”. The arrows which were targeted by Lord Rama did not hurt Hanuman. Finally he used Rama Banam towards him, even which did not affect him and stood before him. Due to this, Pralayam started. All the devathas appeared before them. At once Viswamitra realized his mistake & forgave the King.
From this incident Lord Rama & Lord Hanuman proved the world that “RAMA NAMAM” is magnificent than Lord Rama & Rama Banam. Assume Lord Hanuman as your son and give him your affection. Take your every obstacle to him & he will definitely solve them as the promise he gave his mother, Anjana Devi will be given to us also.
